Aya Takashima Crowned No.1 Announcer Again

For the 5th year in a row, “Princess of Fuji TV” Aya Takashima retains the title as the most popular Japanese female TV announcer!

Japanese music & entertainment ranking / data compiling authority Oricon (オリコン) released the latest finding last week on who commands the most viewership and the 29 year old still came out on top as the most want to be watched newscaster in Japan.  Nicknamed “Ayapan” (アヤパン), many people interviewed replied that they’re impressed with her wide range of specialties, stable reporting skills and quick thinking.

Emerging in second place was NTV’s Yukari Nishio who has been moving up in the top ten rank in the last 2 years.  Japanese viewers love the Chiba Prefecture native’s cheery smile in the morning, on spot comments and knowledge.  Not surprisingly, “Darling of Fuji TV” Minako Nakano who boasts legions of fans rounded out the top 3 spot with her warm smile and charming personality.

Japanese Announcer Mio Nemoto x Up To Boy

Cute til it hurts Japanese freelance announcer Mio Nemoto (根本美緒) as featured in gravure magazine Up To Boy. The 29 year old with girl next door smile works mainly as the morning news weather girl for Japanese TV station TBS. Her job requires her to get up at 2:30am every day…ouch! Mio brings with her a good education background, having spent her entire schooling career from kindergarten to university within the Keio University (慶應義塾大学) system!

New Fuji TV Announcers

Meet the 2 freshest faces of Japanese TV station Fuji TV! I only wish half of the announcers / newscasters in the States look as cute as them.

In line with the “young girls are preferred” tradition on Japanese TV, this past Monday Fuji TV (フジテレビ) unveiled their 2 latest beauties who joined the company this year.

23 year old Ayako Kato (加藤綾子) received her education from Kunitachi College of Music (国立音楽大学) and has been playing the piano for 17 years. Fuji TV handed the lucky Saitama Prefecture native the coveted host position of “Katopan” (カトパン), a weekday late night show that bears her name and will kick start tomorrow.

Keiko Tsubakihara (椿原慶子) who turns 23 later this month also brings with her good pedigree, having gone through her entire education from junior high school to college with the famous Sacred Heart University (聖心女子大学) system. Keiko got her own show as well. “Ana-ban” (アナ★バン!) will air every Sunday night starting on the 19th.

At the press conference the nervous Ayako Kato said she’d like to interview musician Nao Matsushita who also graduated from her alma mater on her show. Keiko Tsubakihara on the other hand daringly brought up the request of doing a show together with Ayako at an overseas location.

Japanese TV Announcers In School Uniform

I know I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…god bless Japan!!

Check out what they did to these 3 lovely young “announcers” (a Japanese catch-all name for newscaster, reporter and overall window dressing, rating boosting pretty babe) who just entered TV Asahi this year. To get the viewing public acquainted with the new entrants, TV Asahi showcased their Class of 2008 on a quiz variety show dressed in no other than my favorite outfit - Japanese school girl uniform!

On the show they focused on Yoshie Takeuchi (竹内由恵), a former Miss Keio University who has taken over the prestigious position of co-host on the popular music program “Music Station” (ミュージックステーション).

The sexy 24 year old graduated from esteemed Aoyama Gakuin University (青山学院大学). While attending school there Yuka was selected as a finalist for the Miss Aoyama Gakuin contest and also worked as a fashion model for japanese magazines such as JJ.

Yoshie Takeuchi Makes Music Station Debut

Yoshie Takeuchi was voted Miss Keio University (ミス慶応) when she attended the prestigious Japanese university majoring in law

As previously reported in my post last month TV Asahi freshman announcer Yoshie Takeuchi (竹内由恵) took over last night as the co-host of the popular long running TV Asahi music program “Music Station” (ミュージックステーション). The 23 year old appeared at a news conference on Thursday with all 3 former Music Station co-hosts who are also TV Asahi announcers. Yoshie’s senpai had a few word of wisdom for her such as make sure to keep the conversation interesting, be sure to zip up her skirt and always maintain good leg poses since she’ll be sitting down a lot during the live TV show.
