I wish she moved and faced the camera a bit more because she’s got a smoking body,… but it’s not a bad video at all. It looks like she’s just practicing but again, I wish she just faced the camera a bit more.

Dancing Stormtrooper Part II

Woo…look what I found! I didn’t know Tokyo resident and otaku extraordinaire Danny Choo was itching to get his Stormtrooper cosplay fix again and went out on to the street of Shibuya recently.

This time he’s busting out moves what the Japanese refer to as “uma uma dance” ( ウマウマダンス) while dancing to the track “Caramelldansen” by Swedish pop group Caramell. This catchy eurobeat has caught on like wildfire in Japan since the latter part of 2007 and the origin of the simple yet cute dance moves can be traced back to the characters from the Japanese PC game (later turned anime) “Popotan”.

The Caramelldansen / uma uma dance has the person sway his / her hip from side to side while having the hands flap around over the head to simulate rabbit ears. Only in Japan can they come up with cutesy stuff like that! :)

I think the sight of a Stormtrooper doing the uma uma / Caramelldansen dance is just too funny! Ah Danny, you’re a genius! xD

Stormtrooper Takes Over Tokyo

Check out this Stormtrooper dances his way through Shibuya (in case you don’t know, the mecca of Japanese coolness) in Tokyo while the amazed crowd gawked. The dude underneath the helmet is Danny Choo, a multi-talented and successful Briton living in Tokyo who is also a self professed otaku when it comes to everything Gundam, anime figurines and bishojo goodness.

Ahh…this brings back so much memory! Shibuya was my stomping ground and I used to go there all the time. I had a lot of good times there. Watching the video not only put a smile on my face, now I can’t get this Uniting Nations song out of my head! xD

Danny picked the right location to display his moves and a good song to go with his video. With the start of his new company he might not have time to grace us with any public dancing for a while, but next time I’d like to see him hit up Kabukicho or in front of ALTA Studio in Shinjuku!

Go Danny, show ‘em what you got!

It LOOKS like someone was filiming when they shouldn’t be but it could just be another one of those viral type videos that give you a headache and don’t show a whole lot. Well, this one isn’t that bad, but it is pretty shaky.

Today I’ve got some sexy race queens from Japan’s Super GT racing series for you. Meet the Yunkel Girls! These hot girls are from Team TAISAN and Sato Pharmaceuticals, the maker of the famous Japanese energy drink “Yunkel” is the main sponsor of the racing team.

Team TAISAN campaigns a gold (you guessed it) Porsche 997 (911) GT3R that’s piloted by the popular Japanese driver Nobuteru Taniguchi who was a huge D1 Grand Prix star.

Racing Model “Tell Me” Dance Video

Ok, the main thing to watch for here in this video is the hottie that they zoom in on at the 30 second mark till the 47 second mark. They zoom in on her again at the 1:25 mark till 1:40,… she’s got a smoking body with what look to be perfect boobies. Even if she does have a short haircut,… although from what I’m seeing this year, it’s supposed to be the in thing in Europe.

Anyway, this a group of racequeens (racing girls as they’re called in Korea) doing a little number. At the 48 second mark, you can see the moron that doesn’t keep up with the rest of the girls. Anyway, you can do what I do,… watch through it once for certain, and then go back to the 30 second and 1:25 mark to watch the beauty that is of soft creamy boobies. Enjoy!

Someone used a handheld camera to film this,… and frankly, I can’t tell if I should bust out laughing because it’s so corny, or if because it’s so damn cute. Oh and yes, they fully are lip sync-ing. :)

Jero - Umiyuki

Here’s Jero’s (ジェロ) first single “Umiyuki” (ocean snow). The song debuted on the Oricon chart at number 16 and has sold over 83,000 copies so far! The American enka singer belongs to Victor Entertainment, one of the largest entertainment agencies in Japan. He was signed 2 years ago after winning several local and amateur singing contests in Japan after he moved there in ‘03.

Jero’s first single - Umiyuki (海雪)

It’s obvious Victor Entertainment has high hopes for the Pittsburgh native. They got famous Japanese music composer Ryudo Uzaki to write the song and producer Yasushi Akimoto to pen the lyrics. The song Umiyuki is based on the small seaside town of Izumozaki (population 5,400) in Niigata Prefecture that faces the Sea of Japan. But Jero’s gave a funny reply when asked what image he had when singing the song. He said, “well, I’ve only seen the beaches in California so…”, which drew a roar of laughter.

Jero Makes Enka History

Jero’s first single “Umiyuki” has just been released

Like many people I thought it was a joke too when my friend first told me about a black dude trying to make it as an enka singer in Japan. But after doing some digging and checking him out, I have to say Jero (ジェロ) is THE REAL DEAL!

In case you’re not familiar with the enka genre, it’s a type of Japanese folk music deeply rooted in history and nostalgia. The songs are generally melodic and sung in slower tempo. The closest comparison in terms of Western music would probably be country & western.

Jero made his major debut on Wednesday as the first and only black enka singer and has been going around Japan and appearing on TV shows to promote his first single “Umiyuki” since last month. At first glance his hip hop get up might throw you off (Jero feels the traditional kimono attire doesn’t suit him, plus he wants to create more of a visual impact) but believe me this kid can sing, and backs it up with well spoken Japanese and proper manner!

jero.jpg

Jero incorporates hip hop dance moves in his performance too.  Performing at HMV in Shibuya (the mecca of Japanese fashion & culture) on 2/20.  He’s the first and only enka singer to make an appearance there!

Jero, whose real name is Jerome White Jr. hails from Pittsburgh and went to Japan almost 5 years ago. Although he doesn’t look it, he is 1/4 Japanese (from his grandmother on his mother’s side). He was close to his grandmother and she introduced him to the world of enka. Jero recalls that as a child he would make his grandmother happy whenever he sang enka for her. He made the decision to become an enka singer while he was on a short term study aboard program in Japan when he was in college.

Jero, the “Black Ship” of Japan’s traditional world of enka

His voice is very impressive, possesses clear pronunciation and belts out smooth melodies just like what a skilled enka singer would. If I played his music without telling you anything about him you’d definitely think he’s Japanese!

Yoko Kumada Loves Sunblock

Yoko Kumada boasts a F cup bust and a killer body

Japanese gravure idol and “talent” (a Japanese catch-all word to describe entertainer) Yoko Kumada promoted her latest DVD “Taiyo Sweets” this past Saturday in Tokyo.  While at the event she squashed rumors about her recent sudden weight loss.  The Gifu Prefecture native explained that she simply stopped eating all the rich food that’s provided while she’s on location shooting, started cooking more at home and just returned to the weight she had when she first made her debut.  Whatever she did, I still think she looks great!

yoko-kumada-88.jpg yoko-kumada-87.jpg yoko-kumada-86.jpg

Yoko Kumada at the press conference to promote her DVD “Taiyo Sweets”

The busty Yoko Kumada was once a goodwill ambassador for the Indonesian resort island of Bali also talked about her experience doing gravure work there.  According to the F cup beauty the sun in Bali is way stronger than Hawaii and the heat packs a powerful punch.  She had to apply sunblock lotion more in Bali than anywhere else.  As a matter of fact, the voluptuous gravure model and part time singer (she has 3 singles and 1 album under her belt) claimed that she uses up more sunblock lotion than anyone else in the industry with an average of 2 bottles per day when she’s out shooting!

yoko-kumada-6.jpg

Screw that Western ideal of a tanned body…innocent cute face, subtle curves on a petite frame and white, creamy skin is my cup of tea!

Going by the rate that she shoots about 120 days in a year, that’s roughly 250 bottles of sunblock Yoko Kumada goes through!  No wonder Yoko said, “If given the chance, I’d like to be an ambassador for sunblock lotion!”

yoko-kumada-13.jpg yoko-kumada-9.jpg

Oh Yoko, you can be the ambassador to my place and I’ll apply lotion on you anytime!

The Saga of Kumi Koda’s Comment Continues

kumi-koda.jpg

The insatiable Kumi Koda is a household name in Japan

Trouble keeps coming since Japanese diva Kumi Koda made the careless comment that “women’s womb turns into shit after 35″ last week on the radio. The following is a gist of what has happened to the mega popular singer some have compared to as Japan’s Britney Spears.

kumi-koda-4.jpg

Kumi’s loose lips landed her in the entertainment world’s equivalent of home detention until further notice

Kumi’s Kirin Chuhai Hyoketsu (a carbonated fruity alcoholic drink) commercial was pulled off the air on Monday.

Kumi’s already taped appearance on TV Asahi’s “Tetsuko no Heya” which was scheduled to air on Thursday has been postponed.

Kumi’s homepage on Japanese cosmetic maker Kose’s website has been shut down indefinitely, as well as Honda’s “Zest Sports” (a micro passenger car).

Kumi’s commercial for Morinaga confectionery’s Weider Protein Bar has been taken down.

Gillette Japan has temporarily halted Kumi’s planned appearance in commercials for the Venus series this month.

There were two previously taped TV shows of Kumi Koda that went on air as scheduled. TV Asahi’s “Koi no Karasawagi” which is hosted by Japanese talk show host icon Sanma Akashiya was aired last Saturday and Fuji TV’s “Shin Domoto Kyodai” on Sunday. However Fuji TV actually reported receiving over a hundred calls on that day from complaining callers.

Once thing’s for sure…Kumi Koda’s ass is THE SHIT!

This is really a shame for Kumi because her latest album “Kingdom” reached the number one position on the Oricon chart (our equivalent of Billboard) last Thursday.

People of Japan, take a chill pill!!

“Super Preppy Flapper Cart!”

I proudly present you with another “what the fuck” video. Some otaku made this video from the video game Idol Master (you’re in charge of selecting, training and promoting a girl and see to it that she becomes a successful idol) and sync’d it with the track from Plus Tech Squeeze Box, a Japanese capsule group.

The song is so funny and cute at the same time! Just be thankful there’s English caption…there’s NO WAY I could’ve understood what she was singing without it!
