ZARD’s latest single 翼を広げて (Tsubasa wo Hirogete) will be featured in a Detective Conan movie

A previously unreleased song by Izumi Sakai, lead vocal of the Japanese rock band ZARD will be the theme song for the latest Detective Conan anime movie, “Meitantei Konan Senritsu no Gakufu” (Detective Conan, Score of Horror). Izumi Sakai was the voice and face of the somewhat mysterious unit that was extremely popular in the 90s. She passed away last May under cloudy circumstances while battling cervical cancer.

The song “Tsubasa wo Hirogete” (Spread Your Wings) was written by famous Japanese musician Tetsuro Oda and its lyrics penned by Miss Izumi Sakai herself. The animated movie will hit theaters across Japan this Saturday.

If you’ve been following Japanese news recently you’d know that NOVA, the largest and perhaps most well-known English language school chain has filed for bankruptcy, and its founder and CEO Nozomu Sahashi has basically cashed out before everything folded and is nowhere to be found.

Some independent filmmaker has put out this satirical short film about all the chaos that ensued and people affected.  Even if you’re not familiar with the case it’s still pretty funny.  Look out for some old school Street Fighter fight scenes and a special appearance by public enemy No. 1 Mr. Sahashi himself!

Forgive me for being excited about this movie.  I’m sure the storyline will be dumb and stupid, but I’m looking forward to the action sequences.  You can find good quality trailers at IGN:

Also on their site are 2 Rated R high definition trailers.  It’s kind of a pain because you actually have to wait for their stupid ads to finish before seeing the trailers, and with the high definition trailers, you have to wait for the damn ad, and then enter in your birthday (which anyone with half a brain can fake) and then wait for another damn ad again (happened once out of the 2 trailers), and then it gives you the option to download it.

Instead, you guys can download it from us.  The links are below for the trailers - please right click and save because our servers aren’t as fast as they used to be to stream the video.  And if too many of you stream it, I’ll just pull it and you guys will have to just go through the process of watching the ads and fake birthdays with IGN.
