Dancing Stormtrooper Part II
Woo…look what I found! I didn’t know Tokyo resident and otaku extraordinaire Danny Choo was itching to get his Stormtrooper cosplay fix again and went out on to the street of Shibuya recently.
This time he’s busting out moves what the Japanese refer to as “uma uma dance” ( ウマウマダンス) while dancing to the track “Caramelldansen” by Swedish pop group Caramell. This catchy eurobeat has caught on like wildfire in Japan since the latter part of 2007 and the origin of the simple yet cute dance moves can be traced back to the characters from the Japanese PC game (later turned anime) “Popotan”.
The Caramelldansen / uma uma dance has the person sway his / her hip from side to side while having the hands flap around over the head to simulate rabbit ears. Only in Japan can they come up with cutesy stuff like that! :)
I think the sight of a Stormtrooper doing the uma uma / Caramelldansen dance is just too funny! Ah Danny, you’re a genius! xD

Stormtrooper Loves Idols
Here’s Danny Choo in his Stormtrooper cosplay having some fun with oh-so cute and sexy Japanese gravure idol Ai Shinozaki and Chihiro Ueno. Both Ai and Chihiro are well known hotties with well endowed F cup breasts. I’d love to say more about what I think of them and what I’d like to do but since they’re both 16 I’ll behave. ^ ^;
Danny you’re such a pimp…all you need is a velvet cape and a feather on the helmet to go with your Stromtrooper gear!
Chihiro Ueno (L) and Ai Shinozaki (R)…I can’t believe they’re only 16!!
Stormtrooper Takes Over Tokyo
Check out this Stormtrooper dances his way through Shibuya (in case you don’t know, the mecca of Japanese coolness) in Tokyo while the amazed crowd gawked. The dude underneath the helmet is Danny Choo, a multi-talented and successful Briton living in Tokyo who is also a self professed otaku when it comes to everything Gundam, anime figurines and bishojo goodness.
Ahh…this brings back so much memory! Shibuya was my stomping ground and I used to go there all the time. I had a lot of good times there. Watching the video not only put a smile on my face, now I can’t get this Uniting Nations song out of my head! xD
Danny picked the right location to display his moves and a good song to go with his video. With the start of his new company he might not have time to grace us with any public dancing for a while, but next time I’d like to see him hit up Kabukicho or in front of ALTA Studio in Shinjuku!
Go Danny, show ‘em what you got!
Shokotan Coming To America
U.S. otaku will be able to see Shokotan in person soon!
It has been announced that super popular Japanese talent, singer, former gravure idol, voice actress and queen of blogging Shoko Nakagawa aka Shokotan will appear at Anime Expo 2008 as a special guest. Anime Expo is the largest anime, manga, otaku and cosplay related event in North America and takes place at LA Convention Center over the July 4th weekend. The “kawayushi” (カワユシ - Shokotan’s lingo for cute) Shokotan is ready to take on her U.S. fans
Shoko Nakagawa Private Lesson
Shokotan, the princess of cosplay
The cute and sexy Japanese idol / singer Shoko Nakagawa aka “Shoko-tan” takes Japanese entertainment icon Akiko Wada to school with a short private lesson on the subculture of “otaku”, or “otakuology”. This is taken from the TBS show “Private Lesson - how to make a proper Akiko Wada”. For more information on Akiko Wada please check out my blog on Feb. 14th.
Say what? But you don’t speak Japanese? Well you’re in luck because the videos I’ve dug up are translated. And kudos to the people who worked on this piece…I think they did a fine job translating!

Street Fighter IV Is Coming
Ryu as he appears in Street Figher IV. The game will be presented in “2.5D” with cel-shading effect.
Has it really been that long since the first Street Fighter video game came out?! At last month’s Amusement Expo 2008 held at Makuhari Messe convention hall in Chiba (just east of Tokyo), Japan, Japanese video game giant Capcom made the official announcement that they will indeed be releasing part 4 of the game that has become a cultural icon worldwide.
Street Fighter IV is brought out just in time to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original Street Fighter debut in the video arcade. Capcom hopes to capture older fans from its earlier series (mainly Street Fighter and Street Fighter II). I hope this latest version will be easier and less distracting to play than Street Fighter Alpha / Street Fighter III, which to me was just too complicated to play and all the eye candies on the screen make things really confusing.

Footwear Fetish Thief Uses Boot Odor To Fantasize About Owner
Haha check out this pervy dude in southern Japan and what gets him off:
KITAKYUSHU — A man arrested for stealing dozens of pairs of women’s boots has told investigators that he smelled them to imagine what the women who wore them looked like, police said.
Kazuhiro Watanabe, 33, from Okagaki, Fukuoka Prefecture, admitted to the allegations of theft during questioning. “I got excited when I smelled them and fantasized over what the women who wore them looked like,” Watanabe was quoted as telling investigators.
In the specific case for which he was arrested, Watanabe stole a pair of boots belonging to a 42-year-old woman, worth 5,000 yen, from a sports club in Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyushu, on Feb. 22, local police said.
Investigators confiscated 27 pairs of women’s boots from his home and car. Local police said they suspect that he stole the boots from hospitals and gyms while on his way home from work over the past few years.
Stealing panties is quite common, but gathering boots…now that’s dedication!

Otaku’s Got Game
Who says otaku (a nerd or geek, usually enthralled in anime, video games and/or electronics) can’t get a date? The following debunks the myth that otaku don’t go out with girls. As a matter of fact, otaku get the girls all the time!
See, she’s a cutie!
Note he’s having the exact same chocolate curry that she’s having…talk about coordination!
Dining with 3 lovely ladies at the same time…now that’s some otaku pimpness!
Otaku taking his game over to another level
For more proof, check out this LINK. It’s got a crapload of picture that’ll surely leave you slack-jawed (and it’s not because of the food)!
Uncle Chicken’s Drag Rag
“Super Preppy Flapper Cart!”
I proudly present you with another “what the fuck” video. Some otaku made this video from the video game Idol Master (you’re in charge of selecting, training and promoting a girl and see to it that she becomes a successful idol) and sync’d it with the track from Plus Tech Squeeze Box, a Japanese capsule group.
The song is so funny and cute at the same time! Just be thankful there’s English caption…there’s NO WAY I could’ve understood what she was singing without it!
Japanese Otaku (Hardcore Fans)
Okay, here’s a glimpse for those of you who aren’t familiar with the otaku culture in Japan. A fan-based orchestra group called Sheeps performs outside Yoyogi Stadium in Tokyo before a Morning Musume concert. They were playing a pretty decent rendition of one of the all-girl unit’s singles “Namida ga Tomaranai Hohkago” when out of nowhere (from 0:32 and on) an ultra hardcore Morning Musume fan decided to display his otaku skills! Well, watch the whole video and you’ll get what I mean. This guy is so into performing his otaku moves he seems to ignore everyone around him…now that’s dedication!
