Japanese police in Saga Prefecture in southern Japan busted the 36 year old truck driver on Tuesday on suspicion of theft.  When Ikeda was apprehended they found 3 bagfuls of women’s underwear behind the driver seat of his truck.  The panty thief’s huge inventory consisted of about 260 pieces of bras and panties!  Keiichi told police for the last 10 years he often cruised by coin operated laundromats in Saga while on the job to amass his erotic collection.  Unfortunately his fun ride came to an end a week ago when he snatched the bra and panties from a 32 year old woman and she took down his license plate number.

When asked why he was carrying all that underwear with him in the truck – after all, there are only so many pairs of panties you can sniff at one time – the poor bastard said, “I’ve got a wife and kids so I couldn’t keep them at home.”  Hey buddy, that’s what storage rentals are for!

With Miu Nakamura’s unexpected announcement Japanese media can’t help but speculate whether it’s a pending marriage or pregnancy that’s the reason behind her decision to retire.  She hasn’t exactly gone through her career without any controversy.  From the end of 2007 Miu stopped her gravure idol activities indefinitely for a few months citing health problems.  And later she also claimed that she was held against her will and threatened by a female relative before.

Miu Nakamura, an U-19 gravure idol got noticed after she entered Miss Young Magazine (ミスヤングマガジン) gravure contest in 2006.  Since her debut at only 14 years of age she’s been known to pose in a variety of cosplay and some very risque spreads.

I personally think she simply couldn’t take the day to day pressure of being a gravure idol anymore and sought an easy way out.  it’s a very demanding business and every year several girls don’t make the cut and go down the same route.  As far as Miu hoping to keep her fan base…good luck.  For every burned out gravure idol there are 100 girls in line waiting to take her place, willing to do what she’s done and more!

The following is an excerpt from the FRIDAY interview.

Fri: Why have you decided to quit as a gravure idol?

Miu: I no longer feel like I want to do gravure work.  I don’t want to continue doing gravure modeling if my heart’s not in it, so I thought now it’s a good time to quit.  I don’t feel any regret.

Fri: Isn’t it kind of early for a gravure idol to quit when she’s only 18?

Miu: It seems like I’m always one step of others.  That’s the story of my life…just like when I made my gravure debut when I was only 14.

Fri: Did you make up your mind a while ago?

Miu: I never had an exact date.  But I thought about retiring before I turn 20, and this was when I first started gravure modeling. 

Fri: We think there are still plenty of people who want to see you do gravure work.

Miu: Does that mean they can only see me as a gravue idol?  I think it’s also possible to be seen outside of my gravure work.  Personally, I think my best gravure days are before I turn 20.  I’d like my fans to remember me this way.

Fri: Perhaps you’re using this opportunity to get married?

Miu: (laughing) No.  I’ve been asked, “Are you pregnant?”  I wanted to say, “Sure, I’m already married with 2 kids!”  People talk, don’t they?  I’ve already gotten used to it.

Fri: There’s also rumors that you’ll do AV.

Miu: (laughing) No way!

Noriko’s former pro surfer husband added that since they separated earlier this spring when he saw her again he noticed that she had gotten thinner and her behavior was hyper and a bit strange, displaying the same symptoms he has when he’s under the influence of stimulants.  Tokyo police suspect she has been doing drugs on her 0wn.

During interrogation Noriko Sakai, a 38 year old mother of one said, “I found out they produced a search warrant on my condo on TV when I stayed at a hotel in Yamanashi Prefecture.  I started panicking and didn’t know what to do.”  Police turned up a total of 42 plastic straws and 1 glass pipe at her luxury condo residence in Minami Aoyama.  When asked where she obtained the drugs, Noriko replied, “I got them from foreigners.”

There is some hope for the Fukuoka Prefecture born singer / actress, though.  According to legal experts, stimulants usually leave the body within 4 days.  Sure enough, the urine sample Noriko Sakai supplied upon her arrest over the weekend turned out to be negative.  In addition, typically it requires about 0.03 gram of the stimulant each time the user “fries”.  However, only a minimal trace in the amount of 0.008 gram was collected upon the search which makes it difficult to prosecute.  The prosecuter may have to drop the charge in the end due to lack of evidence.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police have decided to detain Noriko Sakai for 10 days until the 19th to complete their investigation.  Yes, unfortunately Japanese laws allow the police to do that.  So all you pot heads and fry monkeys please do think twice before you blaze up if you happen to be in Japan!

Even if the cute and sexy 80s/90s super idol people call Noripi can escape this wrath with just a slap on the wrist, she has already suffered major financial loses.  Nagoya based pharmaceutical company ARAX (アラクス) announced today that they have dissolved Noriko Sakai’s contract with them.  Noriko has been a long time spokesperson for their Norshin (ノーシン) headache medicine, perhaps the most popular brand in Japan.  Victor Entertainment has also announced on Sunday the cancellation of her “Best Of” double CD scheduled to be in store on the 16th of next month.  It’s not going to be easy but I’m rooting for Noriko to come out of this fighting and hopefully she can salvage her showbiz career.

On a sidenote…while how Noriko Sakai spent her time and her exact whereabouts between late 8/2 and the moment she surrendered to authorities last Saturday night remain a mystery, speculations began flying about her step mother’s involvement.  Japanese media is suspecting the woman who raised Noriko of aiding her or even accompanying her while she was “on the run”.

Tokyo police produced an arrest warrant for the beautiful 38 year old fans call “Noripi” after finding evidence in her make up case at her residence in Minami Aoyama and confirming a DNA match on drug paraphernalia discovered at the same location.  Like her husband Yuichi Takaso, the police also suspect that Noriko Sakai is a habitual illegal stimulant user.

By the way, during the search police was only able to produce 0.008 gram of the substance.  That is really trivial, if you ask me.

Eyewitness reported seeing Noriko Sakai purchasing instant food, bottled water, cosmetics and underwear in Shinjuku Ward soon after her husband’s arrest last Sunday.  She then was seen leaving her condo with a huge bag looking like she was about to go on a vacation.

Most have thought Noriko has since left metropolitan area but lawyer of the Fukuoka Prefecture native began contacting authority late Friday in preparation to turn herself in.  Noriko surrendered to the authority at a police station in Tokyo’s Bunkyo Ward around 8pm Saturday Japan time.  She was presented with the arrest warrant and was officially arrested.  After stopping by Shibuya Police Station, she was transferred to Tokyo Bay Women Detention Center in Koto Ward shortly after midnight.

After her arrest the 80s & 90s super cute idol commented that, “I don’t remember having stimulants in my home, but if they were found then I guess it’s true.”  When asked about her whereabouts since her disappearance on the 3rd she replied, “I don’t want to talk about it.”

This sounds almost too surreal to be true, especially because of Noriko’s idol past and squeaky clean image.  Instead, it looks more like a perfect script for a movie!  By the way, I wouldn’t be surprised if some studio does decide to make one later down the line.

The turning point of this investigation happened when Noriko Sakai’s husband, surf shop operator Yuichi Takaso told the police that his wife also uses the illegal stimulant he was caught with.  Based on his statement Japanese police obtained a search warrant for Noriko Sakai’s residence in the posh Minami Aoyama district of Tokyo.  Upon entering the police found small amount of stimulant and drug paraphernalia.  As of the 7th Noriko also becomes a suspect in this case.  note – Today police have confirmed Noriko Sakai’s DNA on a pipe they confiscated from her home

Let’s keep in mind that being arrested on drug charges in Japan is a much bigger deal than in the US.  And if you’re an entertainer, you can just about kiss your showbiz career goodbye!

Eyewitness have also reported the Fukuoka Prefecture native tried to persuade the police when she first arrived at the station late last Sunday that the powder substance found in Yuichi’s pocket was actually for sexual enhancement and that he refused to show it because it was too embarrassing.  But when test result came back showing the substance was indeed stimulant Noriko broke down and began crying.

The whereabouts of he 80s and 90s Japanese mega idol is still unknown.  Record shows Noriko withdrew several thousand dollars from the ATM early Monday morning.  She rang up the family friend whom she dropped off her 10 year old son with from a pay phone back on Wednesday requesting to hear her son’s voice, but that was the last contact anyone has received from her.

The Sun Music artist likely won’t be looking to her family for help.  News have surfaced that Noriko Sakai’s younger brother Takeshi Sakai (酒井健), who turns out to be a member of the infamous Yamaguchi Mafia (山口組) was also picked up on drug possession in addition to extortion charges down in Fukuoka earlier last month.  This story gets crazier by the minute!

Last Friday evening Yukiko Hachisuka (蜂須賀ゆきこ), 14th generation member of Japanese cosplay idol troupe Miniskirt Police (ミニスカポリス) caught a train groper red handed trying to apply his trade on her lovely buttocks.  The Kanagawa Prefecture (just southwest of Tokyo) native had just finished some gravure work and was on her way home.  She got onto the Odakyu Line from Shimokitazawa Station and soon noticed a middle aged salaried worker looking man approaching from behind and began fondling her ass.

According to the sexy 23 year old Minisuka girl, the dude first used the back of his hand, later switched to the palm then finally using his fingers to molest her.  Yukiko showed surprising poise for a young Japanese girl by remaining calm.  When the train stopped at Mukogaokayuen Station about 10 minutes later she grabbed the chikan’s right hand and pulled him out of the train.

I’m sure the train groper was totally shocked as he tried to run away since usually Japanese girls aren’t that daring.  I would’ve loved to see the expression on his face!

Mystery solved!

While I was walking around the Fuji TV headquarters building in Odaiba during my recent Japan trip I noticed some type of live event was being held at the plaza below at street level. Curious, I got closer to take a better look and see what all the commotion was about. A sizable crowd had gathered in front of a temporary stage where 3 girls dressed in similar flashy 1 piece dress outfits were doing some song & dance routine. In the backdrop on stage was a sign that said “Peachy’s”, which I had never heard of before.

Naturally I whipped out my beat up but trusty camera and aimed for the stage. But I was told by what appeared to be an event staff to keep moving as I was getting ready to take some snap shots that would’ve been worthy of a “Tokyo moment”. At that time I was by the very side of the stage, just outside the fenced off area where the audience was. I thought they just wanted to keep the foot traffic moving so I walked toward the pack and took out my camera again.

However as I was adjusting the frame and the zoom once again I was interrupted by some event staff with a badge. This time I heard what he was saying, “I’m sorry but there’s no photography allowed.” I was really puzzled, since right before I got idol-blocked I saw a couple people passing by taking pictures with their cell phones. I wondered maybe it was my lack of understanding of the Japanese language or perhaps they didn’t want me taking pictures from that particular spot and get in the way because I did see a camera crew filming the event. I said to myself, “third time’s the charm” as I moved to the right side of the audience and attempted to snap up some juicy exclusive photos for all you Sleepy John readers.

Sorry guys, in the end I wasn’t able to provide any shots of my own. But this is what Peachy’s first mini concert looked like.

What do you know…this time a dude in a suit came up and rudely idol-blocked me even before I pointed my camera in the right direction! I MEAN WTF?!?! What’s the big friggin’ deal if their objective was to promote the group? I know I wasn’t back home in the States, but common sense would dictate that everything’s fair game out in the public. And I certainly considered this outdoor event by the street to fall under public domain! Am I off on this?

I got frustrated and upset about silly little trivial things the Japanese insist on doing like this one so I split without taking any pictures. But now thinking about it maybe I should’ve just played the “dumb gaijin” card and ignored them!

To make sense of all this, the dream idol unit “Peachy’s” consists of Japanese gravure idol Yuka Kosaka (小阪由佳), Akina Minami (南明奈) and Rina Akiyama (秋山莉奈), who also often appear on Japanese TV shows. Peachy’s claim to fame would be, “We’re not singing!” The project was born half jokingly out of Fuji TV’s late night TV show “Jodeki! Pop Company Pop-ya” (～ジョーデキ！POP COMPANY～ POP屋). The cute Japanese idol trio has gained so much following that they’ll release their first single titled “My Baby Boy” later on this summer!

Somehow I’ve got this fascination with Japanese train stations. Maybe it’s because we don’t really have any where I’m from and the the stations in the States definitely don’t look or feel anything like their Japanese counterpart.

Trying to catch one of the last trains of the evening at Nishi Kasai Station. The almost empty station at this hour gives off a lonely feeling, yet the brightly lit lights offer you some comfort and assurance that you’re not left behind.

Typically the short “hanami” or cherry blossom viewing season for Tokyo and surrounding Kanto area is in the very beginning of April. But fortunately I caught a rare glimpse of some leftover cherry blossom when I went up to the mountains.

A couple shots of Akihabara district in Tokyo, which has always been famous for its “Electric Town” with numerous shops that carry anything and everything electronic. Recently the area has really transformed itself into a multi entertaining experience with new fashionable restaurants and other retail stores

I’ve been to Japan several times while having visited many different non-tourist places. But I must say this was the first time I spotted a Japanese police operating a speed trap / traffic stake out. Soon after I snapped this stealth photo (the po-po in the Japan don’t like to have their pictures taken, more on this in a later post) he proceeded to bust a motorcyclist for inching too far forward in a right turn yield lane!

I guess even the police in Japan are starting to get dirty *sigh*

4 Japanese “sunakku” (スナック) snack bars, or small individually run establishment that serve alcohol, homemade dishes & finger food and provide good conversation for the overworked Japanese salaryman line up in a row. Inside an able karaoke machine is a must. You can find joints like these around the train station in almost every town in Japan.

This is why it’s so wonderful to be a guy in Japan. Look at all these fine selections of porno magazines that are on display in plain view at any “konbini” (コンビニ) convenience stores! Even manga often include shots of barely covered young girls in bikini doing provocative poses. This is how the popularity of gravure idols get to be so big in Japan…you start them young!

I ran into this unsightly thing covered by dirty, taped up tarp as I walked down the street near the intersection of a residential area in Tokyo. I wondered what in the world inspired the person to put up such ugly fixture (too big to be a tent for the homeless) and who the hell gave him permission to do so.

I walked around to the other side to find out that it’s a mobile street ramen stall (屋台ラーメン, or “yatai”! xP As much as I love ramen, I’m not quite sure if I’d be down to do my dining in there.

Saturday’s girl is kind of a weird one.  I post it because it’s just weird,… and figure SOME of you guys out there would like the silver latex,… “style.”
