Shokotan Photobook

Internationally known Japanese gravure idol / talent / singer / manga artist Shoko Nakagawa (中川翔子) aka “Shokotan” released her latest photobook titled “Shoko A La Mode” last Friday. This time the multi talented 23 year old transforms herself into several different characters in the photobook, which is very fitting for her cosplay loving personality.

Sexy Shokotan (しょこたん) will hold a public signing event for her photobook on Monday afternoon the 24th at Fukuya Bookstore in the Ginza district of Tokyo

Here are a few shots of our beloved Shoko Nakagawa (中川翔子) making an appearance at last year’s Anime Character Expo (アニキャラエキスポ). “Shokotan” (しょこたん) shared her thoughts and experience on several projects she has worked on and sang the ending theme song “Romantic Ageruyo” (ロマンティックあげるよ) from Dragon Ball, one of her favorite anime.

Shokotan Coming To America

U.S. otaku will be able to see Shokotan in person soon!

It has been announced that super popular Japanese talent, singer, former gravure idol, voice actress and queen of blogging Shoko Nakagawa aka Shokotan will appear at Anime Expo 2008 as a special guest. Anime Expo is the largest anime, manga, otaku and cosplay related event in North America and takes place at LA Convention Center over the July 4th weekend.  For more info about her, please refer to my blog on 2-19-08, 2-21-08 and 3-19-08.

Shokotan’s breakthrough began last year when she released the single “Sorairo Days” which she went on to perform at the prestigious Kohaku Utaggasen year end extravaganza, and held her first concert in October. Her success continues this year with her single “Snow Tears” making No.2 on Japan’s Oricon chart and the record breaking one billionth hit on her blog. on February 1st, not to mention her first album titled “Big Bang!!!” dropped just last month.

Using her own lingo “ギザコール”, Shokotan said, “I’d like the U.S. fans to cheer me on loudly!”

The cute and sexy Japanese idol / singer Shoko Nakagawa aka “Shoko-tan” takes Japanese entertainment icon Akiko Wada to school with a short private lesson on the subculture of “otaku”, or “otakuology”. This is taken from the TBS show “Private Lesson - how to make a proper Akiko Wada”. For more information on Akiko Wada please check out my blog on Feb. 14th.
