Japanese Celebrity Swimsuit Ranking

Japanese music and pop culture ranking authority Oricon (オリコン) released another top 10 list for the summer.  This time they asked both Japanese men and women what female celebrity they’d most like to see in a swimsuit.  Below is the result:

No. 1 – Aki Hoshino (ほしのあき)

The queen bee and most senior Japanese gravure idol continues to reign!  Comments from the survey included, “She’s got such an awesome body” and “When it comes to swimsuit I can only think about Aki Hoshino!”

No. 2 – Akina Minami (南明奈)

Akina was orginally scouted while shopping with her mom in the Harajuku district of Tokyo when she was in the 6th grade.  She brought up comments like, “She’s slender and has a nice body shape” and “Her bright image goes well with summer.”

No. 3 – Yuri Ebihara (蛯原友里)

Who’s a better supermodel than Ebi-chan to represent in a bikini?  Yuri has the body and Shiseido knows it, as she’s been the spokesperson for their ANESSA line of sun block lotion for quite a few years.  People said, “She’s got the perfect style as a model” and “She’s both sexy and refreshing to look at.”

No. 4 – Yukina Kinoshita (木下優樹菜)

The 21 year old fashion model and talent got her showbiz career started when she was chosen to be an image spokesperson for Japanese swimwear maker San’ai (三愛).  From there she began modeling for fashion magazine PINKY as well.  Yukina auditioned for Morning Musume in 2001 but didn’t make the cut.

No. 5 – Miwa Asao (浅尾美和)

The 23 year old professional beach volleyball player has taken Japanese media by storm for the last couple of years.  Miwa comes from Mie Prefecture and thanks to her fame has started doing fashion shoots and gravure modeling. 

No. 6 – Ayumi Hamasaki (浜崎あゆみ)

This Japanese diva needs no introduction and is internationally known, but many people don’t know that she first started out as a gravure idol.  You can see Ayumi’s face just about everywhere you go in Japan.  The AVEX recording artist has won numerous awards and performed in every Kohaku Utagassen year end show since 1999!

No. 7 – Masami Nagasawa (長澤まさみ)

The Shizuoka Prefecture native got her foot in the showbiz door when she became the youngest winner in the history of Toei Cinderella Audition at age 12 back in ‘99.  Masami has a charming girl next door smile and a set of F cup breasts.

No. 8 – Yoko Kumada (熊田曜子)

The sensual and sexy Gifu Prefecture native has once again been selected by Japanese men as a bikini goddess.  Yoko said she didn’t have a big chest when she was younger.  During junior high she saw a boy she liked reading a gravure magazine featuring girls with big tits.  That was when she realized that she must work hard to increase her bust size.  The Artist House Pyramid gravure idol obtained her delicious G cup tits by diligently massaging them everyday.

No. 9 – Haruka Ayase (綾瀬はるか)

The F cup gravure idol / actress hails from Hiroshima.  It is rumored that once Haruka got detained for 1 day in New Zealand on suspicion of spying.  I’m sure everything cleared up right away as soon as the Kiwis saw her awesome photobooks!

No. 10 – Becky (ベッキー)

Frankly I’m a bit perplexed as to how this Eurasian got in on the list.  The spunky 25 year old talent is often considered cute but not sexy.  Born to a British father and Japanese mother, Becky paid all of her college tuition by herself.

Comedian Declares Yukina Kinoshita Is His

When the pressure’s mounting, something’s gotta give.

Some Japanese weeklies had already been running stories of Japanese gravure idol / fashion model turned talent Yukina Kinoshita being romantically involved with Japanese comedian Toshifumi Fujimoto.  On the 7th of last month on a regional variety show airing on Kansai TV the 38 year old half of the Japanese comdey duo FUJIWARA finally fessed up and blurted out, “Yeah, we’re going out!”

During one segment of the show which focused on its guests, the title read, “There are so many rumors involving FUJIWARA.”  After being heckled by both fellow panelists and audience, the Osaka native had no choice but say, “Oh, you’re referring to that?  We’re dating.”  After the show recording was completed Toshifumi felt a little disappointed as he said, “I wanted to announce this on a nationally televised show.”

Yukina and Toshifumi met when they both appeared as regular guests on a popular Fuji TV quiz show Quiz! Hexagon II (クイズ!ヘキサゴンII).  I take it the sexy and leggy Tokyo native likes having her funny bone tickled.

The couple’s mutual friend Hello!Project idol turned talent Mai Satoda (里田まい) made things even more difficult for the Japanese funny man by calling into the show during recording and revealing more detailed info.  Mai told the show, “They went to Disney Sea recently!”  When asked for the identity of the female companion Mai playfully replied, “She’s full of energy and a good girl!”

Gravure pimping magazine Up To Boy promoting Japanese gravure idol / model Yukina Kinoshita (木下優樹菜) and her then upcoming photobook. The slender 20 year old is of Korean heritage and got scouted while working as a fashion boutique clerk at the famous Shibuya 109 building. Yukina belongs to Japanese entertainment agency Platinum Production (プラチナムプロダクション) and landed the image girl gig for Japanese swimwear maker giant “San-ai” in 2007.

So toward the end of the show Yukina was presented with a certificate of appreciation from Guam’s Ministry of Tourism for her promotional work for the island during the past year.

The 2008 bikini preview show marked the conclusion of Yukina Kinoshita’s duty for San-ai / Sanai. The popular Japanese gravure model of Korean descent said, “Without becoming Sanai’s campaign girl, the Yukina Kinoshita you know wouldn’t exist. Even though today is my last day as a Sanai bikini image girl, I’ll always be appreciative.”

I’ve got more pictures of hot Japanese gravure idol Yukina Kinoshita (木下優樹菜) modeling in some 2008 bikini for Japanese swimwear maker Sanai (三愛). Yukina got her breakthrough as Sanai / San-ai / San’ai’s “image girl” last year. The exhibition took place at Tokyo Big Site (東京ビッグサイト) convention center in collaboration with the Visitor Bureau of Guam.

Yukina Kinoshita (木下優樹菜) is a fast rising Japanese gravure idol and fashion model. She was only scouted recently and became Japanese swimwear maker Sanai’s (三愛) “image girl”, or campaign spokesperson for the 2007 season while working at the mecca of Japanese fashion – Shibuya 109.

Here’s a tidbit, the tall and slender tomboyish native of Tokyo was a finalist in Morning Musume’s 5th generation audition (which resulted in the selection of Ai Takahashi, Asami Konno, Makoto Ogawa and Risa Niigaki)! I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of Yukina Kinoshita as the 20 year old recently made her TV drama acting debut on “Hachi One Diver” (ハチワンダイバー), currently airing on Fuji TV.
